“PULSE (2026)” Full Film
2026 Thesis Film / Cinematic FX Short
Overview
PULSE is a non-narrative cinematic FX short created as my thesis film for the
SVA BFA 3D Animation and Visual Effects Class of 2026, selected as a Film of Distinction by the department.
Composed of multiple simulation-driven sequences, PULSE explores rhythm, tension, stillness,
and impact through Houdini-based FX, including procedural modeling and animation,
RBD destruction, pyro, particles, and custom SOP Solver setups.
The project also involved modeling, texturing, compositing, color grading, and editing across multiple softwares.
I directed and created the film as a solo project, leading the full pipeline from concept and shot design through FX,
3D assembly, rendering, compositing, and final delivery.
